Values
Approach
I believe that we are all humans first and foremost. We all make mistakes and none of us are perfect. I value being human more than I value being “put together.”
We absolutely can’t ignore the systemic and macro issues substantially impacting the lives of BIPOC folks. We have to critically examine how these factors play a role in our behaviors and thought processes so we don’t end up gaslighting ourselves.
Humans are resilient and sometimes do not understand their true potential. Clients usually know what they need but may require help in getting there.
Healthy boundaries are no longer optional.
Exploring our past in order to learn more about our current patterns of thought processes, behaviors, & perspectives.
Learning about how our safety strategies protected us. Undoing the shame around safety strategies.
We’ll hella work on identifying, accessing, experiencing, and expressing our emotions.
I use AEDP to treat relational trauma.
I use a different approaches and modalities from: Psychodynamic Theory, Experiential Therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Interventions, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)- Informed Interventions, Feminist Theory.
I work best with folks who’ve been ready to put in the time, energy and effort to change.
Psychotherapy
$156-$200 per 45-60 minute session
I work best with individual adults who view my services as an investment in their mental health wellness. You weren’t pressured into therapy by a someone else; you’re here because you want to be here. You may be new to therapy and feel like there’s a lot at stake such as your relationship or job. You aren’t just “trying out” therapy. You could probably draw a diagram explaining your unhealthy behaviors but you don’t know how to stop them. You overthink then become overwhelmed! You avoid intense emotions because you don’t know what to do with them.

“Soft Skills” Coaching for Professionals
$130 per 50 minute session
“Soft Skills” Coaching is ideal for adult professionals who don’t have mental health concerns but are having difficulties with a new management or supervisory role. First off, congratulations for landing this new role! You worked your ass off to get here!! But you realized managing or supervising other people ain’t your thang!
It’s draining and doesn’t come naturally. You may or may not like the people you manage but more importantly, how do you get them to do what you need them to do? What if they need lot of improvement? Like hand-holding type of improvement. How much do you give of yourself? And seriously, how do you have that conversation without offending them? And you definitely don’t want them to run out of your office crying! Ultimately, there is only one of you and more of them. You can only do so much in a single work day. So how do you manage or supervise this team without sacrificing your time and energy? I’m here to help.
My sub-clinical ADHD symptoms have pushed me to work in many different types of settings: corporate-like; non-profit; medical; mental health; inpatient to community-based; federal; and private. I’ve also worked with affluent clients in beach towns to unhoused clients in the dessert. Coupled with years of experience, I’ve learned how to effectively communicate with starkly different folks and pay attention to non-verbal communication. Moreover, social workers are experts at delivering bad news in a way in which the client is receptive. I’d love to help you learn, practice, & execute these “Soft Skills.” I use quotation marks because the word soft depreciates the value of these very impactful skills.
